Meticulous Document Controller (FTC) from the Built Environment for Inspiring Housing Architects

A multi award-winning studio is searching for a rigorous Document Controller to join their team from mid-May 2020. Recognised in the Architecture industry and beyond for their socially driven and sustainability-led developments, this practice is welcoming, sociable and hard-working and promote a collaborative working culture focused on wellbeing. They require an exceptional Document Controller with understanding of the Built Environment for a maternity cover contract of 9-12 months. This will be a full-time role with the option for flexi-working and entitlement to a competitive package of employee benefits.


The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in Document Management systems, administration and time management, and be confident processing a high volume of incoming and outgoing project-related documents. Committed, positive and solutions-focused, providing first-class support to colleagues and project teams is a must.


Core responsibilities will include:


Liaising with project teams, clients and Consultants to upload, download and share drawings, reports and specifications across extranet sites

Communicating with external system support advisors to ensure the consistently smooth running of electronic platforms

Maintaining superb standards of quality control across all documents

Updating Document Management system drawing register

Issuing electronic and hard copies of drawings and documents

Self-initiating audits on drawings and documents to ensure they are properly submitted


Operating alongside an IT Manager and other support team members, the Document Controller will bring an impeccable attention to detail, superb communication skills and IT-savviness with the ability to pick up new systems, processes and protocols swiftly.


To be considered, you must have at least 3 years’ experience overseeing Document Control for Architecture, Engineering, Construction or other Built Environment-related companies, with a strong working knowledge of EDMS and Excel as well as a solid foundation in AutoCAD. Understanding of Revit and Deltek is advantageous, but not essential.
